It’s about building a multi-faceted revenue stream. However, it’s not all sunshine and viral videos. The biggest challenges I’ve personally grappled with, and seen others face, revolve around algorithm changes and platform dependence.
One day your content is soaring, the next it’s barely seen because an algorithm tweaked something behind the scenes. This can be incredibly frustrating and unpredictable.
Another huge hurdle is simply standing out in an incredibly saturated market. Everyone wants a piece of the pie, so finding your unique angle and consistently delivering high-quality, engaging content is harder than it looks.
You also have to deal with the constant pressure to “perform” and the mental toll that comes with managing community expectations and online criticism.
My advice for anyone starting out? Focus on building an engaged community, diversify your presence across multiple platforms so you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket, and always prioritize your well-being.
